“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed.”
There are seasons when God requires you to wait, and there are seasons when God causes things to move faster than you expected. Both seasons require faith. Waiting requires faith to remain still until God moves, while acceleration requires faith to move when God says it is time to go.
You may have spent years praying, preparing, learning, serving, sacrificing, sowing, and wondering when you would see the manifestation of what God placed in your heart. There may have been seasons when nothing appeared to be happening. Doors remained closed. Opportunities seemed distant. Promises appeared delayed. Yet what looked like inactivity was often divine preparation.
God was developing you while you were waiting.
Then suddenly, the season can change.
A door opens. A connection happens. An opportunity appears. Resources become available. Someone remembers your name. Something that previously seemed impossible begins moving with unusual speed. What you struggled to accomplish in one season begins coming together almost effortlessly in another.
Do not mistake divine acceleration for coincidence.
Amos 9:13 gives us an extraordinary picture of acceleration. The harvest would come so quickly that the plowman would overtake the reaper. One season would begin before the previous season had completely finished. It is a picture of unusual productivity, supernatural increase, and God’s ability to compress time according to His purpose.
There are things God can accomplish in months that human effort could not accomplish in years.
However, acceleration does not mean preparation was unnecessary. Quite the opposite. Your private preparation may be the very reason you are able to survive your public acceleration. The prayers nobody heard, the lessons nobody saw, the sacrifices nobody celebrated, and the discipline nobody understood were preparing you for a season when things would begin moving quickly.
Joseph experienced this kind of transition. One day he was a prisoner, and shortly afterward he stood before Pharaoh. By the end of that encounter, Joseph had been elevated into governmental authority. His circumstances changed quickly, but his character had been developing for years.
The palace happened suddenly. The preparation did not.
That distinction is important.
When God accelerates you, do not become so excited about movement that you abandon wisdom. Acceleration still requires discernment. Every open door is not necessarily God’s door, and every opportunity does not require your yes. When several things begin happening simultaneously, remain prayerful enough to recognize what belongs to your assignment.
Divine acceleration should increase your dependence upon God, not decrease it.
Isaiah 60:22 (KJV) declares, “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”
Notice the final words: “in his time.”
God’s acceleration has an appointed time. You cannot manipulate it, manufacture it, or force it. When the appointed season arrives, however, God is fully capable of causing circumstances, resources, relationships, opportunities, and divine connections to align with His purpose.
Perhaps you have been looking at the years behind you and wondering whether you have lost too much time. Do not measure God’s ability by your calendar. He is able to redeem time, restore opportunities, and bring purpose forward in ways you could never orchestrate yourself.
Your delayed season does not mean your destiny has been denied.
God can accelerate what concerns you for your good.
When acceleration comes, remain humble. Stay prayerful. Maintain your integrity. Protect your character. Remember who sustained you when nobody knew your name. Remember the lessons you learned in hidden seasons. Most importantly, remember that promotion is not merely about where God is taking you; it is about what He intends to accomplish through you when you arrive.
Do not be intimidated if things suddenly begin moving faster.
You prayed for this.
You prepared for this.
You remained faithful through seasons when you could not see this.
Now trust God through the acceleration just as you trusted Him through the waiting.
What took years to prepare may only take moments for God to reveal.
Prayer
Father, I thank You because I know You hear me. Let Your will be done. Thank You for every season of preparation, every lesson learned, every closed door that protected me, and every waiting season that developed me. When You choose to accelerate Your purpose for my life, give me wisdom to move with You. Do not allow the speed of opportunity to cause me to move ahead of Your voice. Give me discernment, humility, discipline, and spiritual maturity to steward everything You place into my hands. Redeem the time according to Your will, order my steps, align the right opportunities, and let every advancement bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration
I declare that I am prepared for God’s timing. I will not force what God has not released, and I will not fear what God chooses to accelerate. I trust the Lord to redeem time, order my steps, open the right doors, and position me according to His purpose. What God accelerates in my life will work for my good and ultimately for His glory.
