Spiritual Awakening or Awareness of God’s Unfolding Plan

Some called it anoxiousness; some called it disjointness; but some called it as nothing is wrong.

But something shifted in the atmosphere this evening. The alignment is out of the unparallel, undeniable and unwavering fact that God has caused something to happen in time that eternity is causing things to be synchronize.

These feelings of something about to happen can be aligned with a spiritual awakening or awareness of God’s unfolding plan.

They address the human experience of sensing and waiting for spiritual events or shifts that are believed to be on the horizon.

The sensation that something is imminent in a spiritual sense can often be associated with a concept known as “spiritual awakening.” This is a term used to describe a moment or period in which an individual gains a profound or transformative insight into spiritual truths, experiencing a deeper connection with the divine or the universe. This experience can lead to an increased awareness of God’s presence and plan, both in one’s personal life and in the world at large.

In Christian theology, this awareness is sometimes connected to the idea of “discernment,” which is the ability to perceive and recognize the will of God or the direction of the Holy Spirit. It’s a sense of spiritual sensitivity to the movements of the divine, an inner conviction that God is actively at work.

For instance, in the New Testament, the disciples experienced a spiritual awakening at Pentecost, as described in the Book of Acts. This event radically transformed their understanding and awareness of God’s presence and power:

Acts 2:17-18 – “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”

This passage reflects an outpouring of spiritual insight, suggesting that a profound understanding or event is forthcoming. This feeling of something about to happen could be interpreted as a spiritual quickening or awakening that precedes a significant divine occurrence.

Moreover, the anticipation for spiritual events or shifts on the horizon is not just about personal transformation but also about understanding the signs of the times within a broader eschatological framework — that is, the part of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind.

In Christian eschatology, there is a belief in the “end times,” a period when significant events will unfold as foretold by biblical prophecy. This anticipation is not necessarily one of fear but can be one of hope and preparation for those who believe they are witnessing the unfolding of God’s plan.

The idea of sensing and waiting for these events is encapsulated in various scriptures that speak to watchfulness and readiness:

Matthew 24:42 – “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Here, Jesus instructs his followers to be vigilant, implying that the awareness of spiritual realities is crucial for understanding the significance of unfolding events.

Furthermore, the feeling that something is about to happen can also lead to a deepened sense of purpose or calling. Individuals may feel compelled to change their lives, to align themselves more closely with their understanding of spiritual truths, or to engage in actions they believe are divinely inspired or mandated.

This experience can be both personal and communal, as individuals and faith communities interpret signs and experiences through the lens of their spiritual traditions and scriptures. It often leads to a period of reflection, recommitment to spiritual disciplines, and an intensified desire for community and fellowship with others who share a sense of anticipation.

In summary, the feelings of spiritual anticipation or the sense that something is about to happen reflect a heightened state of spiritual awareness. This state can manifest in various ways: through personal transformative experiences, through a communal sense of expectancy regarding prophetic fulfillment, or through a renewed sense of mission and purpose in one’s life and actions.

These feelings can serve as catalysts for spiritual growth and a deeper engagement with one’s faith and the world.
